Hi, y'all!! I've been persona non grata on this blog, but I'll try to do better.
Things here are good. Spring has been rainy and humid, but much nicer than last year. We got a grand total of THREE snow storms this year (yeah, yeah, all you Utahites are laughing your butts off, but it really is unusual out here. Our heating costs were astronomic!) We got the garden planted and so far it looks good. We may actually have a good garden this year! Yehaw! And we bought a pool so we can survive the summer heat. The kids were so excited, they didn't even wait for it to be full before they started to swim in it! Ha ha ha!! But it wasn't quite level, so we drained it to move it. Then a freak storm blew through and a tornado almost touched down in nearby Tarboro, creating microburst winds throughout the area. It flipped our new pool and bent some poles. Sigh. We're counting our blessings, though, other people have it worse. Trees were felled, houses damaged, lots of trampolines flipped and destroyed. And the wind really did sound like a freight train. It was something else.
Please feel free to blog us, email us, whatever. We'd love to hear from everybody.

We had a wind come through a few weeks ago that sounded like that. We lost one shingle off the house, some pieces off a chimney and the latch on the gate. Not too bad.
Becky and I got caught in a storm like that once, only it wasn't just wind it was hail and sleet and rain and thunder. It actually made the news! Flattened whole crops and left the next field standing. Really strange. Tore my mom's flowers to shreds. That was, maybe 12 or 13 years ago. Sorry about your pool, though! That's a total bummer!
