We actually got snow this year . . . twice!!
It's unusual to get more than flurries here, snow that you see in the air but that melts before it sticks to anything. They're still taking about the great snow storm of 2004 that dumped enough snow to bind up traffic in Raleigh for hours. It just doensn't come here often.
But this year, we had a storm dump four inches that stayed on the ground for three days! We had a snow day from school and Bob even got a snow day from work. The kids loved it, they went out and built a snow fort and invited me to join their snowball fight. We scraped ice off the car and Bob's motorcycle stayed tucked in safe under a tarp. He's crazy, but he's not stupid.
Heather and Jenny collected a big pan of snow and we had delicious snow ice cream. Yummy! The recipe is simple: one carton of heavy whipping cream, one bag of frozen fruit, 2 cups of sugar, and a big bowl or pan of snow. Mix and enjoy!
The kids were sorry to see the snow go, but the weather warmed up so nicely, it was like spring. And now, we have snow again!! :o)Another storm dumped four inches last night.
